Alantra advises Migros on the sale of the Dr.G skincare brand to L’Oréal

Zurich, London, New York – Alantra acted as the financial advisor to Migros on the sale of Gowoonsesang Skincare, the South Korean subsidiary of the Mibelle Group, to L’Oréal. The transaction includes the sale of Dr.G, a Korean derma-cosmetics skincare brand founded by Dr. Gun Young Ahn and headquartered in Seoul. Dr.G will now become part of L’Oréal Groupe’s Consumer Products Division (CPD), positioning it to meet the growing global demand for K-Beauty and scientifically developed, effective, yet affordable skincare solutions.

For over a decade, Dr.G has been one of South Korea’s leading skincare brands, with a growing pan-Asian presence and strong global growth potential. In 2018, the company was acquired by the Mibelle Group, a subsidiary of Migros, and has seen continuous growth since. The sale of Gowoonsesang Skincare is part of a broader strategy announced by Migros in February 2024 to divest the Mibelle Group and focus on its core business.
