London – Alantra has acted as exclusive M&A advisor to MML Capital Partners (“MML”), an international private equity firm, on its growth investment in Dalcour Maclaren, a leading utilities and infrastructure consultancy.

Headquartered in Bicester, Oxfordshire, Dalcour Maclaren works exclusively across the utilities and infrastructure sectors. Its teams work alongside clients throughout the development of major infrastructure projects, helping them navigate land access, planning and environmental consents, geospatial requirements and stakeholder engagement. The specialist consultancy has supported the delivery of a host of nationally critical utilities and infrastructure projects including Gatwick Northern Runway, Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station, HS2, Hornsea Offshore Wind Farm Projects and the Great Grid Upgrade. MML is an international mid-market private equity firm with offices in London, Paris, New York and Dublin, and have invested over €1.5bn in more than 80 companies across 11 countries.

Alantra supported MML throughout a highly competitive private equity auction process, providing strategic buy-side advice, value creation planning, valuation and exit analysis, investment committee support, and transaction execution assistance. The process required close coordination across multiple diligence and completion workstreams, enabling MML to move with pace and conviction, differentiate its investment case with management, and position itself as the right partner for Dalcour Maclaren’s next stage of development.

Mike Reynolds, Partner at MML, said: “We knew there was significant interest in Dalcour Maclaren from a wide variety of private equity sponsors so it was imperative for us to have a trusted advisor supporting us who knew the sector well and could work alongside us at pace, providing impactful insight and advice – Alantra made a huge difference, it was also a pleasure working with the team.”

Robert Pearce, Head of Built Environment at Alantra, said: “Dalcour Maclaren combines specialist land, planning, and environmental expertise with a strong multidisciplinary model and a clear runway for growth across the utilities and infrastructure sectors. We are pleased to have supported MML in a competitive and time-sensitive process, helping the team build conviction and execute at pace to secure a partnership aligned with Dalcour Maclaren’s ambitions.”

This transaction further reinforces Alantra’s strong track record in Business Services and the Built Environment, following recent mandates including advising Goldenpeak on its majority investment in ORS, advising Colliers on the acquisition of Ayesa Engineering from A&M Capital Europe, and advising Kent PLC on the acquisition of Sudlows Consulting.
