New York – Alantra has acted as exclusive financial advisor to IFF (NYSE: IFF), a global leader in flavors, fragrances, health and biosciences, on the sale of its portfolio of Botanical Extracts, Vitamins & Minerals, and Food Enhancement activities to SuanNutra, a global provider of science-backed branded and functional ingredients backed by Carbyne Equity Partners.

The portfolio includes botanical extracts, vitamins and minerals, food enhancement solutions, natural colors and antioxidants, as well as certain localized flavor activities in Peru. It serves a broad range of food, beverage and nutritional end markets through a comprehensive selection of customized solutions.

The transaction includes operations that generated approximately US$170 million in revenue in 2025. Collectively, the businesses employ around 600 people and operate across five manufacturing facilities in Europe, the United States and Latin America.

The acquisition expands SuanNutra’s product offering and international footprint, strengthening its position as a global supplier of value-added ingredients for the food, beverage and nutrition industries.

Michael Poerschke, Partner at Alantra, said: “We are delighted to have advised IFF on this strategically important carve-out involving its global natural ingredients portfolio. Transactions of this nature require deep sector expertise and extensive experience in executing complex cross-border separations. This transaction highlights Alantra’s ability to support global corporates in optimizing their portfolios while delivering attractive strategic outcomes for both seller and buyer.”

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory clearances and the satisfaction of applicable consultation requirements.

This transaction underscores Alantra’s momentum in the Consumer Ingredients sub-sector, in which the firm advised on a variety of transactions, including the acquisition of Brothers International by SK Capital, the sale of Florachem to Tradebe Life Sciences, the sale of Pharm-Rx to New Mountain Capital’s Actylis, and the acquisition of Ellison Bakery by MidOcean Partners’ QualiTech.
