Alantra has announced that it has advised WeAre Group, a major player in the manufacture of small and medium-sized complex detail parts in the aerospace and defense sector, in the sale of its plant in Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon (Loire Atlantique) to Aéroprotec.

The transaction will enable Aéroprotec to strengthen its technological offering and its geographical reach. The site in Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon is specialized in surface treatment. It joins the three Aéroprotec sites, two of which are located in Pau and the third in Tunisia. The sale will enable Aéroprotec to broaden its scope of qualifications, particularly in future processes (Reach compliance): Surtec 650, TSA Lanthanum, OAS fine and Zinc Nickel. The strategic location of Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon in the west of France, less than an hour from the major aeronautical clients, will enable Aéroprotec to deploy numerous services in the vicinity of these actors and, thus, support the strong recovery of the sector.

“Thanks to this acquisition, the plant in Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon will fully harness its potential and continue its growth. I am confident that the teams will be able to take part in an ambitious project that is worthy of their skills and commitment. This is the beginning of a new adventure and the continuation of a solid partnership between WeAre and Aéroprotec to meet the challenges that lie ahead,” said Pascal Farella, President of WeAre Group.

Alantra has already advised WeAre in the acquisition of TARAMM and GAMMA-Tial last November and is currently advising the group on its ongoing merger with Mecachrome.

“We are proud to accompany WeAre group in this new operation. It brings a high quality industrial site to Aéroprotec which will ensure its development”, declared Olivier Guignon, Managing Partner of Alantra, and Florian Touchard, Partner of Alantra.
