Madrid – Alantra acted as financial advisor to Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente (“Solaria”) on the sale of an interest in Generia Land, S.L. (“Generia”), Solaria’s dedicated renewable land platform, to Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm. Stonepeak and Solaria will have joint ownership and governance of Generia.
Established in 2022, Generia focuses on sourcing, acquiring, and leasing land in Europe for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and battery storage. Generia currently manages thousands of hectares of land, primarily in Spain and Italy, and this land will support more than 4 GW of renewable energy projects. The investment supports Solaria’s broader goals of developing 18 GW of capacity for multiple technologies by 2030.
Solaria is a leading independent renewable power producer in Spain, with a strong track record in sustainability and innovation. The partnership with Stonepeak will enable Generia to make additional land acquisitions and accelerate its growth to become one of the largest renewable land companies in Europe.
Carlos Rodríguez-Viña, Managing Partner at Alantra, said: “We are pleased to have supported Solaria in securing a strategic partnership with Stonepeak, which will accelerate Generia’s growth and position it as a key player in Europe’s renewable land co. industry.”
This transaction reinforces Alantra’s expertise in the renewables sector and its commitment to advising clients on complex infrastructure deals across Europe, following its recent advisory role to Iberdrola in the sale of a portfolio of hydropower plants in Spain to a platform backed by RPI and Cube.
Alantra advised on the transaction together with Kutxabank Investment, as part of an ongoing collaboration agreement.
