BOSTON – Alantra, a leading global investment bank and asset management firm, is pleased to announce that Precinmac Precision Machining (“Precinmac”) has acquired Viper Northwest (“Viper”), an Oregon based manufacturer of machined components for both the semiconductor and aerospace & defense markets. The transaction closed on December 15, 2020, and terms were not disclosed.

Viper is a precision manufacturer of OEM components for a variety of high tech industries. The company specializes in precision machining, precision sheet metal, fabrication, assembly, testing, design & fulfilment services. The acquisition of Viper will provide Precinmac with a strategic West Coast presence and needed access to additional aerospace & defense manufacturing capacity.

David Waldstein, Managing Director with Alantra, said, “Precinmac’s end market diversity, and resulting resiliency of its portfolio, allowed it to undertake this targeted acquisition during an adverse market. In addition, Precinmac’s consistent performance gave  shareholders and lenders the confidence to be aggressive buyers of businesses, such as Viper, that have performed well throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.”

The successful Viper transaction builds on Alantra’s experience in this sector and adds to its growing list of credentials. Precinmac’s acquisition of Viper is the fourth completed transaction for the Alantra A&D team in 2020 and sixth transaction for the team over the past 12 months, including the March 2020 sale of Precinmac to Pine Island Capital Partners, LLC, Bain Capital Credit, LP, and Compass Partners Capital.

“We were thrilled to assist Precinmac with their targeted, strategic acquisition of Viper,” said Wade Aust, Managing Director & Partner with Alantra. “The fact that the Precinmac shareholders and management returned to Alantra for assistance with their buyside program speaks highly of the long-term relationship and trust between Alantra and the Precinmac team.”

The Alantra US team advising Precinmac included Mr. Aust, Mr. Waldstein, Jackson Rimpas (Associate, New York), Tom Kulesa (Analyst, Boston) and Tim Orie (Analyst, Boston).
