Alantra has acted as sole advisor to Medik8 Limited and Nanogen on the sale of the premium hair loss fibers and treatment brand to Professional Beauty Systems (PBS), a company specializing in the research, development, manufacturing, and marketing of professional hair and beauty products.

Nanogen is a leading hair thickening brand with over two decades of experience in creating scientifically formulated solutions designed to deliver thicker, fuller hair. Under the leadership of Andrew Rayner, a seasoned health and beauty Managing Director, Nanogen has achieved consistent growth over the past two years, expanding into pharmacy stores, e-commerce platforms, and hair clinics.

Andrew Rayner, Managing Director of Nanogen, said: “I am excited by the opportunity to build out Nanogen’s hair thickening and treatments range and, in partnership with PBS, I look forward to scaling the business further in our home UK market and internationally.”

Matthew Wiseman, Managing Director at Alantra, added: “We are very pleased to have worked with Medik8 and Inflexion on this transaction, as the company refocuses to strengthen its core business. After supporting Medik8 and Nanogen in their sale to Inflexion in 2021, this transaction further reinforces our position as a trusted advisor for both Medik8 and Inflexion as we continue to support their journey.”

The transaction highlights Alantra’s ongoing momentum in the health and beauty sector. The team has recently advised on a range of deals, including those involving Windstar Medical, vH essentials, The Grooming Company, Viactiv, Nails Inc, Childs Farm, Medik8, Alphacaps, Bee Health, Aakamp, UAS Labs, Absolute Collagen, Hairburst, and Vivona Brands.
