Alantra advises Alpha Bank on the sale of Portfolio Mercury, c.EUR 2bn non-performing unsecured consumer, small business and personal insolvency loan portfolio in Greece

Athens, November 29, 2018 – Alantra portfolio advisory team (“Alantra CPA”) is pleased to announce its role as advisor to Alpha Bank, one of Greece’s four systemic banks, on the signing of a transaction whereby Hoist Finance has entered into an agreement to acquire a Greek unsecured non-performing loan portfolio with a total outstanding balance of approximately EUR 2bn and consisting of consumer, small business loans  and personal insolvency loans for a total investment of EUR 76 million. The signing of the deal was announced on Alpha Bank’s website as well as on the Athens Stock exchange.

This transaction adds to Alantra’s wide expertise in credit portfolio transactions, having advised in c. 200 transactions with a combined deal value in excess of over €250bn since 2014. The portfolio advisory team, composed of c.80 professionals across Europe isbased in London, Madrid, Milan, Athens, Dublin and Lisbon.
