Alantra has advised Lyndon Scaffolding (“Lyndon”), the UK’s largest independent access and scaffolding services business, on its sale to BrandSafway (“Brand”), a global provider of access services to the industrial, commercial and infrastructure markets, headquartered in Georgia, USA.Lyndon Scaffolding will be combined with SGB, the BrandSafway scaffolding and access unit operational in the UK, to become Lyndon SGB by BrandSafway.

Lyndon, headquartered in Birmingham, was founded 50 years ago, by brothers Tommy and Paddy Lynch and has been run by the Lynch family throughout its history. It is now the UK’s largest independent UK access and scaffolding provider with sales of approximately £50 million and over 600 employees operating from facilities in Birmingham, London, Manchester, Scotland, Yorkshire and Wales.Lyndon has worked on some the U.K.’s largest and most impressive projects, and its portfolio includes Jubilee Bridge at Runcorn, BBC Broadcasting House, Tate Britain, Severn Bridge, Birmingham Gateway Station, Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, and the Scottish Parliament Building. Brand is a $5 billion revenue business backed by Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, one of the world’s largest private equity firms. The acquisition of Lyndon will complement Brand’s existing UK business, SGB, and provide access to new clients and regions in the UK.
