Madrid – Alantra has acted as exclusive financial advisor to Iberdrola on the sale of a portfolio of mini-hydraulic power plants in Spain to a platform participated by Renewable Power International and Cube Infrastructure Managers.
The portfolio comprises ten operating plants with a total installed capacity of 31 MW, distributed across the Spanish regions of La Rioja, Navarra, Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla y León. This disposal is part of Iberdrola’s non-strategic asset rotation.

The company operates across the entire energy value chain, including generation, transmission, distribution, and retail of electricity, with a strong strategic focus on renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and customer-centric innovation.
Manuel Fernandez, Managing Director at Alantra, said: “We are pleased to have supported Iberdrola on the divestment of this complex and widely distributed portfolio of Hydro Run of the River plants. By leveraging our deep sector expertise and network of active investors, we were able to manage a competitive process and finally deliver an exceptional outcome for all parties involved.”
This transaction highlights Alantra’s strategic focus on long-term partnerships with top-tier corporate clients, reinforcing its role as a trusted advisor in complex power infrastructure deals across the energy sector.
