Alantra advises Grupo Cajamar on Generali’s investment in Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo

Madrid – Alantra has advised Grupo Cajamar on Generali’s agreement to acquire a 9.9% minority stake in Banco de Crédito Social Cooperativo (“BCC”), the parent entity of Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar, for c.€150mn.
The transaction further strengthens the longstanding strategic partnership between Generali and Grupo Cajamar, which dates back to 2004, reinforcing Generali’s position as the Group’s reference insurance partner. Upon completion, Generali will also appoint a representative to BCC’s Board of Directors.
The investment will further strengthen Grupo Cajamar’s capital position, increasing its phased-in solvency ratio to 17.6%, while supporting the Group’s future growth and expansion.
Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approval.
Alantra recently advised Grupo Cajamar on Crédit Agricole’s acquisition of a 9.9% stake in BCC and the commercial alliance between both groups, further strengthening Alantra’s FIG track record in strategic transactions and partnerships across Europe.
