Prior to joining Alantra in 2015, Chris Bates worked in corporate finance at PwC, focusing on the retail, consumer, and leisure sectors. Before this, he previously held positions at JPMorgan and Hamilton Bradshaw.

During his career at Alantra, he has successfully completed a number of transactions in the consumer sector, including the sale of Hairburst to JD Sports, the sale of Medik8 to Inflexion, advising the shareholders of Absolute Collagen on raising a minority investment from Livingbridge, the sales of TM Lewin to Torque Brands, and advising JZ International on their acquisition of Karium. He currently leads the UK focus on digitally native consumer brands and e-commerce and is the author of the Alantra Digital Fast 50, which ranks the UK’s fastest growing consumer brands.

Chris graduated from Nottingham University with 1st class honours in 2008.
