Arfa Karani

Arfa Karani is a Director at Klima, Alantra’s Energy Transition fund. She joined the firm in 2022 and focuses on investments in scale-ups across the energy transition sector, supporting companies driving innovation and decarbonization across the energy value chain.

Prior to joining Alantra, she was part of Equinor Ventures, where she worked on early-stage investments in battery materials, nuclear fusion, hydrogen technologies, and related areas. She has held and continues to hold board positions across portfolio companies, contributing strategic oversight and technical insight.

Arfa holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Cambridge, where her research focused on improving solar cell efficiencies. She also holds a Master’s degree from University College London.
