Alexander Matthes

Alexander Matthes is a Managing Director and head of Alantra Germany. With more than 25 years’ experience in investment banking and private equity, Alexander has advised on more than 50 transactions across Europe predominately in the Consumer sector along multiple sub verticals such as branded consumer products, food and beverage, personal care as well as consumer health.

Prior to Alantra, Alexander was a Partner at Vendis Capital, a private equity firm investing in consumer scale-ups across Europe. Previously, he spent eight years at William Blair, where he led the Consumer & Retail practice in Europe, following earlier roles at Dresdner Kleinwort / Commerzbank and Lazard.

Alexander holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Cologne.
