Paul Birley joins Alantra’s healthcare team as senior advisor

Alantra, the independent global mid-market investment banking and asset management firm, has appointed healthcare industry veteran Paul Birley as a senior advisor. Alantra’s Global Healthcare team includes over 30 professionals across Europe, the US and Asia and has completed more than 20 deals over the last year.

Paul was Barclays’ Head of Healthcare for almost 20 years. Having helped set up their healthcare strategy in 2001, he grew the business into one of the UK’s leading teams with a portfolio of healthcare clients covering all aspects of the sector. Under Paul’s management, the team won numerous industry awards and his contribution has also been recognised as the sector’s most influential lender by HealthInvestor.

As a senior advisor, Paul will help Justin Crowther, who heads Alantra’s UK Healthcare team, and Hoong Wey Woon, who leads the Alantra UK Real Assets team, with their focus on providing M&A, capital raising and debt advisory to the healthcare real assets market, building on the team’s current strong momentum.
