New York, Madrid – Alantra has acted as financial advisor to Quercus Technologies, a Spain-based provider of smart mobility and parking solutions worldwide, on its sale to TagMaster, a Swedish company specializing in sensor products and data solutions for security and access control systems, including RFID readers.

Founded in 1999, Quercus Technologies is a leading technological company providing smart mobility and parking solutions worldwide through its offices in Spain (HQ), France, USA, Chile and Brazil. TagMaster is a publicly listed Swedish technology company that develops and markets cutting-edge sensor systems and solutions for challenging environments. Its expertise spans radio frequency identification (RFID), radar, vision technology, and wireless magnetic solutions, addressing a wide range of applications such as smart mobility, access control, and security.

The acquisition of Quercus gives TagMaster access to deep knowledge in computer vision and state-of-the-art AI technologies and will enhance the group’s leadership in intelligent sensing for both traffic and parking applications. Following the acquisition, the group will have a total of 60 development engineers, 30 of which are dedicated to further developing AI-based and computer vision solutions.

Jordi Moragas, CEO of Quercus Technologies, said: “We are very pleased to be joining the TagMaster Group. We recognize and welcome the strength that the union will bring to both brands and the synergies that are immediately apparent with the other TagMaster companies.”

Jon de Pérdigo, Director at Alantra, added: “This transaction underscores the strategic value of Quercus’ innovative solutions in the smart mobility and parking sectors. We are proud to have supported the company in identifying the right partner in TagMaster, which is well-positioned to amplify Quercus’ growth and technological leadership on a global scale.”

This transaction reinforces Alantra’s expertise in advising innovative technology companies on strategic cross-border transactions, building on recent deals such as the sale of Vaaka Partners’ Cloudpermit to Riverside or the acquisition of a stake in Dancerace by Norland Capital.
