London – Alantra has acted as sole financial advisor to Goltens Company Limited (“Goltens”), a leading global independent provider of critical repair, maintenance and retrofit services for marine and land-based engines and propulsion systems, on its sale to HD Hyundai Marine Solution (“HMS”), the marine aftermarket and lifecycle services arm of HD Hyundai.

With more than 85 years of heritage, Goltens has established a global presence spanning 28 service locations across 15 countries. The company provides specialist engine overhauls, on-site repairs, control system upgrades and environmental retrofits, helping shipowners and industrial operators minimize downtime, improve operational efficiency and extend the lifespan of critical assets.

The acquisition will strengthen HMS’s global aftermarket services platform by combining its existing capabilities with Goltens’ extensive international service network and technical expertise. The transaction is expected to support further investment in Goltens’ people, facilities and technologies, while expanding its service offering and ability to address growing demand for maintenance, operational efficiency and decarbonization solutions. Following completion, Goltens is expected to continue operating independently, preserving its established customer relationships and service model.

Alantra advised Goltens’ shareholders throughout a competitive international sale process, drawing on its Maritime & Offshore sector expertise and global buyer network to coordinate a complex cross-border transaction involving multiple jurisdictions.

Sandeep Seth, CEO at Goltens, said: “Alantra understood from the outset what mattered to our shareholders. In addition to securing the maximum value from the transaction, finding the right partner to support Goltens’ growth while preserving the independence, technical expertise and customer trust built over more than 85 years was critical to the owners. Alantra’s deep sector knowledge, international reach and sound advice were invaluable in navigating a complex transaction and bringing us to this agreement with HD Hyundai Marine Solution. We appreciate the skill, professionalism, and commitment of the Alantra team and are confident that HMS will provide a strong platform for continued investment in our people, capabilities, and services.”

Alastair Horrocks, Managing Director at Alantra, commented: “Goltens has built an exceptional global platform, combining deep technical expertise with a longstanding reputation for delivering critical services to the marine and industrial sectors. This transaction reflects the strength of its market position and the strategic value of its international footprint. We are proud to have supported the shareholders and management team throughout this complex cross-border process and believe HD Hyundai Marine Solution is well positioned to support Goltens’ next phase of growth.”

The transaction is expected to complete in late 2026 or early 2027, subject to merger control approvals.

This transaction further strengthens Alantra’s track record in the Maritime & Offshore and Industrial Services sector, following advisory roles to Rawabi Holding on a $595mn financing for its offshore support vessel newbuild program, Navantia on its acquisition of Harland & Wolff’s shipyard assets in the UK, Atlantic Navigation on the sale of its 20-vessel OSV fleet to MAG Offshore and TOPS Field Services on its sale to Capstreet in the US.
