Alantra is pleased to announce that the CHT Group, a leading European specialty chemicals company, has acquired ICM Silicones, a global group of five silicone compounders with operations in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy and China, from Century Park Capital Partners and Akoya Capital Partners. The transaction closed on August 24, 2017 and the deal values were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Cassopolis, Michigan, ICM Silicones Group is a leading independent formulator and manufacturer of silicone products such as adhesive sealants, potting compounds, moulding rubber, gels, coatings, antifoams and emulsions. ICM offers solutions to aerospace, automotive, electronics, LED, renewable energy, mouldmaking, food & chemical processing and personal care markets. The acquired operations include ICM Products Inc. in Cassopolis, Michigan, QSi LLC in Richmond, Virginia, ACC Silicones Ltd. in Bridgwater, UK, Treco Srl in Milan, Italy and ACC Silicones in Tianjin, China.
The acquisition of ICM will strengthen CHT’s silicone specialties business—doubling the size of CHT’s current silicone business—and marks the company’s re-entry into the US market. Dr. Ralf Brückmann, Head of Business Field General Industries of CHT Group, said in a company statement, “The combination of CHT Silicones and ICM Silicones will greatly expand the variety of products and services that CHT already offers to the marketplace globally. With this transaction, CHT Silicones will have a stronger international footprint and will be able to add significantly more value to our customers.”
“We are very pleased to have assisted the CHT Group with this important transaction,” said Chris Donegan, Managing Director with Alantra. “It truly exemplifies Alantra’s ability to marry our cross-border transaction capabilities with strong sector expertise to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.”
