After our expansion into Europe we continued to expand our Investment Banking business around the globe through several new office openings and acquisitions. In 2017, we integrated Boston-based C.W. Downer & Co, an M&A firm with a 40 year history focused on the US mid-market and with Asian and European presence in Europe and Asia. The Group also integrated Catalyst Corporate Finance, a London-based boutique with 40 Corporate Finance professionals, specializing in M&A and debt advisory services. In addition, Alantra acquired a strategic stake in Latin American boutique Landmark Capital, and expanded organically into Benelux, Greece, Nordics, and Portugal

The Group also made significant steps in growing the geographical reach of its other business areas. In 2018, Alantra acquired a strategic stake in pan-European asset manager Access Capital Partners, and continues to play a key role in the industry’s consolidation in the region.

In Portfolio Advisory, Alantra acquired KPMG’s portfolio solutions group in the UK. The team initially comprised over 35 dedicated professionals who brought with them a vast experience, having executed over 100 transactions across 30 countries, with a combined deal value in excess of €180bn since 2014. We now have the largest portfolio advisory group on Europe with over 140 professionals in Greece, Ireland Italy, Spain and the UK.
