Type Press Releases

Alantra, the global mid-market investment banking firm, has promoted Simon Peacock to Partner, effective from 1 January 2019.  This promotion reflects the momentum behind Alantra and its growing global business, as well as the significant contribution that Simon has made to the M&A advisory business in the UK.

The promotion recognises Simon’s track record of originating and completing deals, both in the Consumer sector and more generally in the Midlands market; and it underlines Alantra’s strategy of investing in both sector and regional routes to market.

Simon joined Alantra in 2006 from the Food industry and, over the last 12 years, has applied that direct experience to the benefit of many clients. He co-leads the Consumer sector team, with a particular focus on Food & Beverage deals, and is part of the senior Alantra team based in the Midlands. Simon also authors “The Grocer Fast 50”, an annual report Alantra publishes in conjunction with The Grocer magazine.

Simon has been very active in both his areas of focus over the last 12 months, with Alantra completing over 20 deals in the Consumer sector and playing a significant role in the Midlands market. Notably, Simon led a global Alantra team that advised Key Capital Partners on the sale of Birmingham-based Alliance in Partnership, a specialist school meals provider, to Sodexo, the French headquartered €20 billion revenue global outsourcing business. He also advised Palatine Private Equity on the secondary management buy-out of CET, the Midlands-based specialist provider of infrastructure and property assurance services.

Richard Sanders, Partner and Head of the Midlands, commented: “I congratulate Simon on his well-deserved promotion which recognises the significant contribution he has made to the growth of the firm’s UK M&A advisory business, particularly within the Consumer Sector and the Midlands region, as demonstrated by his transaction record.  We are committed to investing behind our people in our chosen markets as we continue to grow the Alantra business both in the UK and globally.”

Further recent transactions that Simon has worked on include advising Rutland Partners on its acquisition of Armitage Pet Care; the management buy-outs of Addo Food GroupWestleigh Homes and Belfield Furnishings; and the sales of Steelite International to US-based PNC Riverarch Capital, Sofa Brands International to a private family office, and Soreen to Samworth Brothers.
