Alantra has won Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year in the 2020 Unquote British Private Equity Awards.

The awards, which are judged by a panel of industry veterans from the financial community combined with a public vote, celebrate innovation, resilience and excellence within the UK private equity industry.

With the 12-month judging period covering both the pre-lockdown and the lockdown period to the end of June, the award recognises Alantra’s success in creating value for clients and the wider private equity community across the investment lifecycle and during a difficult macro-economic and operating environment.

Notable transactions included supporting Inflexion to buy back Aspen Pumps from 3i (winner of the ‘Mid-Market Exit of the Year’ award); advising Bain Capital Credit and T.M. Lewin on the sale of the business in May to consumer specialist, SCP Private Equity; advising Bowmark Capital on its investment in Focus Group; advising Tenzing Private Equity on its acquisition of activpayroll and advising MML Capital Partners on the acquisition of Arrow Business Communications.

Andy Currie, Managing Partner, Alantra UK Corporate Finance, commented, “In a period that has included unique challenges, this award recognises how our combination of deep sector knowledge, execution excellence and grounded, down to earth advice has created the right solutions for our clients and the private equity community. The next 12 months will undoubtedly bring some challenges for all involved in the private equity community, but it will also create some great opportunities which we look forward to finding solutions for.”
