Alantra, the independent global mid-market investment banking and asset management firm, is delighted to announce that it has been named Advisor of the Year in SCI’s Non-Performing Loans (NPL) Securitisation Awards 2022. This recognition is a great testament of our extensive experience in a number of benchmark deals.
In NPL Asset Backed Securities (ABS), Alantra has advised, among others, the arrangement of the second ever largest NPL securitisation in EMEA for Alpha Bank (€10.8bn) and the very first ever NPL ABS rated securitisation in Cyprus. In NPL advisory, Alantra has advised across many transactions including the securitisation of a €2.2 billion NPL portfolio in Italy.
Additionally, SCI has named Project Galaxy “Transaction of the Year”, the second largest rated NPE securitization in Europe in which Alantra acted as Co-arranger and financial lead on the deal.
Project Galaxy transformed Alpha Bank’s balance sheet, allowing it to normalize the cost of risk for AB as well as carve out the internal NPE management unit of c. 1,000 people to service the new portfolio. Additionally, the transaction massively decreased NPL and NPE ratio for both the bank and the country.
Francesco Dissera, Managing Director of the SFABS team, commented: “Our presence is now global, and we are able to support our core clients in the different phases of a public or private securitisation, of both NPL and RPL – secured and unsecured.”SCI-NPL-Awards-2022-Issue_Jun-22
