November 29, 2016
  • Alantra is pleased to announce that it advised Future French Champions (FFC, a partnership between CDC International Capital and Qatar Investment Authority) on its investment in Devialet, the French developer of high-end sound systems based on its proprietary technology.
  • Underwritten by renowned global investors (such as Ginko Ventures, Korelya Capital, Foxconn, Future French Champions, Groupe Renault and Sharp Corporation), this €100m fundraising is one of the largest startup funding rounds in Europe and the third largest funding round in France in 2016. FFC is one of the most significant investors in this new round.
  • Founded in 2007, Devialet invented a breakthrough amplification technology and quickly became the world leader in high-end amplifiers and the most awarded start-up in Audio history. After the successful launch of high-end amplifiers D-Premier (2010) and Expert range (2012), the company entered the premium audio mass-market in 2015 with the introduction of the Phantom range of high-performance wireless amplifiers. Available in Apple Stores since the beginning of 2016, Phantom sales reached 30,000 units in less than a year. The Expert and Phantom ranges have collected more than 60 awards and are protected by over 100 patents.
  • The proceeds will be used to roll out Devialet’s proprietary technology in automotive, TV, and internet of things applications, as well as expand sales in Asia, Europe, and the U.S.
  • Alantra team : Franck Portais, Ivana Mastilovic, Gautier Frantz
