Alantra advised Spanish pharmaceutical and health group Cinfa on the acquisition of French company Natural Santé, a specialist in natural food supplements, from private equity fund Argos Soditic.

Cinfa has mandated Alantra to accompany it in its international growth plan, of which France was one of the priority markets. Alantra selected a few relevant targets and initiated bilateral discussions with Argos Soditic for its client, which resulted in the acquisition of Natural Santé.

This transaction summarizes Alantra’s differentiated service to its mid-market clients: deep sector specialization combined with a truly global coverage. In Investment Banking, Alantra has been able to advise in 76 transactions in H1, of which c. 50% were cross-border. Out of these transactions, nine were in the consumer health, pharma and nursing homes segments.

Founded 30 years ago, Natural Santé took a new turn in 2013 after being acquired by Argos Soditic in a primary operation alongside the management team. Since then, the group has grown strongly through innovation and product development. In four years, its turnover increased from €32m to €46m, establishing Natural Health in the top 10 of the French market of food supplements sold in pharmacies.

The transaction, one of the largest in the French food supplements sector, allows Cinfa to gain a leading position in France and reinforces Natural Santé’s growth potential on the international market. The management team of Natural Santé remains in place.
